AWS-BKD recycling was set up by AWS and Rotterdam-based Boskalis Dolman B.V. recycling. Both companies have years of experience in soil remediation and are leading companies in the industry.
AWS-BKD is licensed for physicochemical cleaning of the following materials: soils contaminated with heavy metals, PAHs, cyanides, mineral oils (with long-chain carbon compounds) and VOCls, contaminated dredging spoil, cesspit sludge, street sweepings, railway ballast, iron foundry sand, sand from water treatment facilities and sand screened from crushing and sorting plant. After treatment all the materials are reused in construction, road-building, and concrete industries.
Being located in the port of Gent enables AWS-BKD recycling to treat soils from markets outside Belgium as well.
